Frisco Fire Safety Town

Frisco Fire Safey Town is so cute! They have a fire truck the kids can play in.

We went next door to the real fire station and got a tour. We were all very impressed, especially my retired fire-fighter dad! He shook hands with every fellow fire fighter we came across.

You know you are the parent of a toddler and newborn when things like this don't phase you.

"You want to drink your water from a plate with a straw? Fine."

Some photos of Lauren in the early days. She had a little bit of Jaundice so we had to let her sunbathe in indirect sunlight.

Kate's First Trip to the Dentist

Kate had her first dental appointment today. We started prepping her last week with a book about "Molly" going to the dentist, pointing out the dental office on our car rides and practicing opening our mouths to look at our teeth.

Kate did great today.

The had princess books in the waiting room which she got hold while sitting in the chair.

She sat on Daddy's lap to get her teeth cleaned. She sat by herself for the dentist to examine her teeth. The doctor asked if we had a thumb sucker. We have a finger sucker. He said we have to get her to stop doing that and showed us the indentation her teeth are already forming.

We've been telling Kate not to suck her finger so that she has Pretty Princess Teeth. I'm so proud of her. It's such a relaxing habit for her to suck while reading or watching TV. She was really trying not to put her finger in her mouth.

After the dental appointment, what did we do to celebrate Kate being such a good girl? We bought her a sugary snow cone!!

Congrats!

Congrats to the following blog readers who won my Blogiversary contest!

The winner of the $10 Walmart gift card for knowing where "Love, Honor and Stick Together" came from is Jami! Jami wrote in her comment that she "...went through my memory boxes and I actually have a candle from your wedding that has a sticker on it with the logo: Love, Honor, and Stick Together. That was a wonderful day!" Jami was my matron of honor at my wedding!

I found some sticky notes with that saying on them and just had to have them for my wedding as favors. Here's a photo of the sticky notes.

The winner of the gum for leaving a comment on my blogiversary blog is Karen!

Many thanks to everyone for reading my blog!

The Way We Get By - a documentary film by Aron Gaudet & Gita Pullapilly about three senior citizens & Maine Troop Greeters

Yes, Michael Jackson was an amazing artist. Amazing. It's very sad he never really created again.

Now, let's focus on the real heroes in this country, our soldiers. Check out this video for a documentary about troop greeters in Bangor, ME, - a group of senior citizens who gather daily at a small airport to thank American soldiers departing and returning from Iraq.
